Oh, The Agony....

I am on day 5, with my braces. You would not believe the pain, I have been feeling! Since, 2 hours, after I got them on, that's when I could feel the achy feeling. I couldn't chew anything. I was on a smoothie diet, until today.
I was in extreme pain, from my teeth moving, day 2,3 and 4. I was irritable- and I tolerate pain very well. When I would hear my kids scream, I would wince in pain. It was mostly my front teeth, then the sides, then the molars, after. Now, today, there is pain, but it pretty much gone. I was numb with pain, those days. Now, I can feel my teeth, and see where everything is.
I definitely notice a change, in my teeth! Which I am so happy about. My spaces, in some places, are different. My bite is different. What I am noticing the most, is when I place my tongue either on the roof of my mouth of where my bottom teeth are- I can tell the braces have pushed both top and bottom back, some. It's really neat!
Even though the changes are tiny, they are there. My husband thinks I look hot, with my braces! I have confidence in knowing these brackets on my teeth will transform my smile, to a beautiful, straight, confident me!

First Post With Braces ON!

This is my exciting journey, about getting braces! Which I need and have ALWAYS wanted! Because my teeth have always been ugly, to me. I am going to try my very best to keep this blog updated, as-well-as a vlog, I am doing, on my progress.
I am 31 years old. At age 16, I had braces, but, after two years, got them removed for finacal resons. Now, that I can afford them, I finally had them put on, to get confident about my smile.
At my consult, my orthodontist (who is really amazing), told me I would need braces on top and bottom, to close the spaces on the incisors. I also have a tooth, that is turned sideways, from the previous ortho treatment. My ortho will have to eventually cut away some of my gums, where the gum has grown and make it, so it grows straight, instead of sideways.
Treatment time is between 18-24 month. And permanent retainers on my top teeth and bottom. As well as removable retainers. It's a pretty simple treatment plan.
I got them on, on May 6,2013. I also got spacers, between four molars, on my bottom teeth. So, in a week, my ortho can add bands to the molars. I chose to have traditional, metal braces put on. Not because of cost, but, because of all the concerns with the other ones. I just wanted to stick with what my ortho was firmiar with.
